Special Orders

If you have a specific dietary accommodation due to religious or medical reasons, you are welcome to place special orders that can be picked up during these services, however we cannot guarantee all of your items will be purchased. We encourage you to come visit the service to see what we have stocked before placing a special request. If you are interested in learning more about placing a special order, please email foodbank@ams.queensu.ca

Once you are approved for an accommodation, you will be contacted by our team to be given the ordering form for items. We will only purchase items that match your accommodation (ex. lactose-free milk for lactose intolerance).

Additionally, please kindly note some of our current policies around special orders:

1. Individuals are not allowed to pick-up special orders for other people. Each patron may only pick-up one special order on their visit.

2. There is a $15 maximum on each special order. This is to ensure that we can best meet the needs of all of our patrons as best as we can within our ability.

3. Please note that we will only be approving and purchasing special order items that match the inputted accommodation. We also do not purchase items adjacent to ones that we carry (ex. regular produce, meats, etc.).

Good Food Boxes

We are also currently taking Good Food Box orders for every second Thursday of the month. These boxes are donated from United Way Kingston, and thus we are limited to 20 for each ordering period.

Feel free to join our mailing list (linked in the top right corner of the home page)  for updates on when ordering is live.

Follow the link below to purchase a Good Food Box for the third Thursday of the month. Please note that these orders must be placed by 4:00pm the THURSDAY before pick-up week.

KCHC is having technical difficulties with their website right now and is unable to add Queen’s as a pick up location for the boxes so select Kingston Community Health Centres in that list, then ADD A NOTE and indicate that they would like pick up at AMS Food Bank. There is an option on the check-out page to add notes. The pick-up location will be in the JDUC, 2nd Floor, Room 212, 87 Union Street,  Kingston, Ontario, Canada K7L 2N8.
